FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR ALASKA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ANCHORAGE AK
718 AM AKDT WED JUN 3 2015

.DISCUSSION...
SOUTHWEST ALASKA WILL CONTINUE TO BE IN A WET AND UNSTABLE PATTERN
THROUGH THURSDAY AS AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE APPROACHING KODIAK ISLAND
INTERACTS WITH AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE CENTERED OVER THE THE CENTRAL
INTERIOR OF ALASKA. THIS WILL ALLOW FOR ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS THIS
AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING OVER MUCH OF THE REGION. ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THURSDAY AS WELL BUT SHOULD BE LIMITED TO
MAINLY THE INTERIOR AREAS. WINDS WILL BE GUSTY ALONG THE KUSKOKWIM COAST
THROUGH THE PERIOD WITH HIGH PRESSURE DOMINATING THE BERING SEA. WINDS
WILL ALSO BE GUSTY THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THE KAMISHAK GAP AND INTO
THE SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE WESTERN ALASKA RANGE AND THE INTERIOR AREAS
OF BRISTOL BAY.

RH VALUES WILL BE THE LOWEST THIS AFTERNOON ALONG THE NORTHERN PORTIONS
OF THE MIDDLE KUSKOKWIM VALLEY AND THE KUSKOKWIM DELTA WHERE SKIES WILL
BECOME PARTLY CLOUDY THIS AFTERNOON ALLOWING FOR THE GREATEST HEATING.
RH RECOVERIES WILL BE EXCELLENT TONIGHT.
