FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
300 PM EST MON JAN 23 2017

.DISCUSSION...DEEP LOW PRESSURE WILL FINALLY LIFT NORTHEAST AND
OFF THE MID-ATLANTIC COAST THIS EVENING. THIS WILL BRING ALL LIGHT
SHOWER ACTIVITY TO AN END...AND ALLOW DRIER AIR TO MOVE IN AS
HIGH PRESSURE FROM THE WEST BUILDS DOWN OVER THE NORTHERN GULF COAST.

THE PRESSURE GRADIENT BEHIND THE DEPARTING LOW WILL REMAIN RATHER
TIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING. GOOD DISPERSION IS EXPECTED THIS
EVENING THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS...WITH THE NIGHTTIME
INVERSION DEVELOPING LATER THIS EVENING. LOW-LEVEL MIXING WILL
PREVENT ANY FOG FROM FORMING OVERNIGHT.

SURFACE WINDS TUESDAY WILL BE FROM THE WEST AROUND 10 MPH AFTER
DAYBREAK...THEN INCREASE TO 10 TO 15 MPH THROUGH THE LATE MORNING.
WINDS WILL THEN DIMINISH LATER IN THE AFTERNOON. TRANSPORT WINDS
WILL BECOME WEST-NORTHWEST AROUND 15 MPH. RELATIVE HUMIDITIES
WILL DROP TO AROUND 40 PERCENT.
