Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
300 PM EST Tue Nov 21 2017

.DISCUSSION...High pressure centered off the Mid-Atlantic coast
will continue to direct a moist onshore flow across the forecast
area through tonight, as a weak cold front approaches from the nw.
Drier air will move in behind the front Wednesday.

The nighttime inversion will develop around 6 PM this evening,
and persist until about 8 AM. With a weak pressure gradient in
place, poor dispersion is expected. Areas of light fog will
develop late tonight, but expected cloudiness will inhibit any
dense fog development.

Surface winds Wednesday will be from the north around 5 mph after
daybreak, then increase to 5 to 10 mph by late morning. Transport
winds will be north and increase to around 10 mph. Relative
humidities will drop into the 40 to 50 percent range in the
afternoon.
