Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina...UPDATED
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
453 AM EDT Tue Sep 19 2017

.DISCUSSION...No rain is expected today as high pressure
extending into the area keeps a dry air mass in place across
the forecast area. Moisture and instability will begin to increase
on Wednesday with a weak trough of low pressure developing.
However, any showers or thunderstorms which occur are expected
to be isolated on Wednesday.

Light northerly winds this morning will become west-northwest at
5 to 10 mph in the afternoon, then southwest less than 5 mph
toward evening. Transport winds will be similar during the day.
Relative humidities will drop into the 40 to 50 percent range.

The nighttime inversion will once again form between 7 and 8 PM this
evening. A weak pressure gradient will yield poor dispersion.
Shallow low-level moisture will support patchy fog development
The nighttime inversion will once again form between 7 and 8 PM this
evening. A weak pressure gradient will yield poor dispersion through
sunrise Wednesday morning. Shallow low-level moisture will support patchy
fog development mainly near river valleys.
