Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL

.DISCUSSION...

High amounts of water in the atmosphere will continue across much
of the southeast into next Monday. This moisture, along with
strong daytime heating and resulting instability will continue to
bring chances of showers and thunderstorms to the region. The
atmosphere`s high moisture content means that locally heavy rains
are possible with the stronger storms, along with strong outflow
winds over 40 mph, and frequent lightning activity.

Shower coverage should be somewhat lesser during the evening and
overnight, with a loss of daytime heating. Fog development is
possible, especially in and near locations that received a good
wetting rain. A passing upper level disturbance will bring likely
chances of showers and thunderstorms during Monday.

Generally Good west, to Good east dispersion rates are forecast on
Sunday, with mixing heights ranging from around 8000 feet west to
7000 feet east. Transport winds will be from the west 10-12 mph.
Generally Good west, to Fair east dispersion rates are forecast on
Monday.

Fog potential over the next few days: the development of patchy
late night and early morning fog is possible the next few days.
Fog formation is more likely in and near areas that experience
a good wetting rain. Some of this fog could become locally dense,
with surface visibilities locally reduced to one quarter of a mile.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: none at this time.
