.DISCUSSION...

...VERY STRONG WINDS SATURDAY...

A VERY POTENT COLD FRONT WILL PUSH INTO THE REGION EARLY SATURDAY
MORNING BRINGING A SHARP SHIFT IN WINDS AND STRONG SUSTAINED
WINDS AND GUSTS THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS. THERE IS A POTENTIAL
FOR LARGE IMPACTS GIVEN THE INTENSE WINDS FORECAST IN THE MODELS
AND POTENTIAL FOR DOWNED TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES. WETTING
RAINS WILL ACCOMPANY THE SYSTEM ALONG THE CASCADE CREST BUT ONLY
LIGHT SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED OVER THE REST OF THE MOUNTAINS WITH UP
ISOLATED SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS WILL BRING UP TO A TENTH
OF AN INCH IN THE MOUNTAINS. THE BASIN WILL RECEIVE LITTLE TO NO
PRECIPITATION AND BLOWING DUST IS EXPECTED. WINDS WEAKEN BUT
REMAIN GUSTY ON SUNDAY AS A SECOND FRONT PUSHES THROUGH RENEWING
PRECIPITATION CHANCES REGION-WIDE. A FEW THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE
POSSIBLE SUNDAY AND WETTING RAINS ARE A STRONG POSSIBILITY IN THE
NORTHEAST MOUNTAINS OF WASHINGTON AND NORTHERN IDAHO. COOLER AND
UNSETTLED WEATHER PATTERN REMAINS INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK WITH
MOUNTAIN SHOWERS. ANOTHER WINDY DAY IS EXPECTED TUESDAY.
