WEDNESDAY FOR GUSTY WINDS...LOW HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS FOR FIRE
WEATHER ZONES 223 AND 224 WHICH INCLUDES THE SAN LUIS
VALLEY...THE SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS AND THE LA GARITA MOUNTAINS...

.Discussion...

Dry and windy conditions will continue into the evening, with
isolated thunderstorms over the eastern plains. Winds will then
gradually diminish after sunset, with a shift to north winds
behind a cold front on the plains. On Wednesday, dry and windy
weather will persist over the mountains and interior valleys,
with Red Flag conditions over the San Juans/La Garitas and
the San Luis Valley. Thunderstorm chances Wednesday will be
limited to areas along the Palmer Divide. For Thursday into
the weekend, enough moisture will be in place for isolated
afternoon and evening thunderstorms at many locations, with
the greatest chance over the mountains. Temperatures will cool
back to near seasonal averages through the period.

Afternoon smoke dispersion will range from very good to
excellent across the entire area Wednesday and Thursday.
