SUMMARY OF FWF DISCUSSIONS

Discussion from LAXFWFSGX

VERY WARM WEATHER WILL CONTINUE INLAND THROUGH FRIDAY. HUMIDITY WILL
INCREASE INTO THE WEEKEND AS MONSOON MOISTURE MOVES NORTHWEST OVER
THE REGION. THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN
MOUNTAINS EACH DAY THROUGH SUNDAY...BUT WIDESPREAD WETTING RAINS ARE
NOT EXPECTED. CONTINUED VERY WARM AND DRIER WITH A SHALLOW MARINE
LAYER NEXT WEEK AS A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE REMAINS OVER THE REGION.

Discussion from LAXFWFLOX

ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND LOW HUMIDITIES EXPECTED
TO CONTINUE INTO THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK AS A HIGH PRESSURE
RIDGE DOMINATES THE SOUTHWESTERN U.S. ON FRIDAY...THERE WILL BE STRONGER
ONSHORE FLOW WHICH WILL GENERATE WIND GUSTS IN THE 25 TO 35 MPH RANGE
ACROSS INTERIOR SECTIONS...WITH ISOLATED GUSTS AS HIGH AS 45 MPH
ACROSS THE FOOTHILLS OF THE ANTELOPE VALLEY. MEANWHILE...HUMIDITIES
WILL FALL INTO THE TEENS ACROSS MOST INTERIOR SECTIONS ON FRIDAY...WITH
ISOLATED SINGLE DIGIT READINGS IN THE MOUNTAINS AND ANTELOPE VALLEY.
THE COMBINATION OF GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS...VERY WARM TEMPERATURES...AND
LOW HUMIDITIES WILL BRING ELEVATED FIRE DANGER TO INTERIOR SECTIONS
ON FRIDAY...WITH BRIEF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS POSSIBLE.

THE RIDGE IS EXPECTED TO WEAKEN SLIGHTLY THIS WEEKEND LEADING TO A
SLIGHT COOLING TREND AND SLIGHTLY HIGHER HUMIDITIES BUT TEMPERATURES
WILL STILL REMAIN 4-8 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. SOME MOISTURE
MOVING UP FROM MEXICO WILL REACH THE AREA LATE SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY
AND BRING A SMALL THREAT OF AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS OVER
THE EASTERN SAN GABRIEL MOUNTAINS.

Discussion from SFOFWFHNX

HIGH PRESSURE WILL SLOWLY BUILD WESTWARD FROM THE
DESERT SOUTHWEST THROUGH SATURDAY WITH A WARMING AND DRYING TREND
CONTINUING. A SOUTHEAST TO SOUTH FLOW ALOFT WILL PREVAIL SUNDAY
THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK WHICH WILL PROVIDE THE AREA WITH
INCREASING MOISTURE AND A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE
HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE SOUTHERN SIERRA NEVADA. TEMPERATURES WILL
REMAIN ABOVE SEASONAL NORMALS AND WILL NOT SHOW LITTLE CHANGE FOR
THE FIRST HALF OF NEXT WEEK.

Discussion from RNOFWFVEF

A PUSH OF MOISTURE UP THE COLORADO RIVER VALLEY WILL
BRING MORE HUMID CONDITIONS AND A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS TO
THE MOJAVE DESERT TONIGHT AND FRIDAY. A MORE SUBSTANTIAL PUSH OF
MOISTURE WILL BRING THUNDERSTORM CHANCES TO THE SOUTHERN GREAT BASIN
ON SUNDAY.

Discussion from PHXFWFPSR

VERY WARM...BUT SOMEWHAT COOLER...TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED
TODAY...AS UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE BEGINS WEAKENING AND SHIFTING
FURTHER TO THE EAST. INCREASING MOISTURE WILL MEAN A GREATER LIKELIHOOD
OF AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE REGION. THE BIGGEST
THREAT WILL BE IN THE MOUNTAINS EAST OF PHOENIX. WINDS WILL BE
GENERALLY OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST AND LESS THAN 10 MPH...BUT WILL BECOME
VARIABLE AND GUSTY AS OUTFLOW BOUNDARIES FROM STORMS MOVE ACROSS THE
AREA. MINIMUM HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL RANGE FROM THE UPPER TEENS TO
AROUND 25 PERCENT. GOOD OVERNIGHT RECOVERY IS EXPECTED.

...THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY GUSTY WINDS...

NOTE...ADDITIONAL FIRE WEATHER FORECAST INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND
IN THE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. SEE PRODUCT PHXAFDPSR.
