SUMMARY OF FWF DISCUSSIONS

Discussion from LAXFWFSGX

A TROUGH MOVING THROUGH CENTRAL TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WILL
CONTINUE TO BRING COOLER WEATHER AND NIGHT AND MORNING STRATUS
INTO THE COAST/VALLEY SECTIONS THROUGH SUNDAY. A FEW
THUNDERSTORMS MAY FORM OVER THE MOUNTAINS SATURDAY AFTERNOON DUE
TO A POSSIBLE INCREASE IN MOISTURE. A WARMING TREND AND SHALLOWER
MARINE LAYER IS EXPECTED FOR NEXT MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY AS
HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT STRENGTHENS. THEN ANOTHER TROUGH MAY BRING
COOLING...A DEEPER MARINE LAYER AND INCREASING ONSHORE FLOW.

Discussion from LAXFWFLOX

SIGNIFICANT COOLING WITH HIGHER HUMIDITIES IS EXPECTED
THROUGH SATURDAY AS STRONGER ONSHORE FLOW AND WEAK BUT DEEP
MARINE LAYER CLOUDS IMPACTS THE REGION. AN INCREASE IN AFTERNOON
SEA BREEZES IS EXPECTED...ESPECIALLY IN AND AROUND THE ANTELOPE
VALLEY. COLD AIR ALOFT WILL BRING A VERY SLIGHT CHANCE FOR A
SHOWER OR THUNDERSTORM TO THE MOUNTAINS...ESPECIALLY VENTURA AND
SANTA BARBARA COUNTIES. A GRADUAL WARMING TREND IS EXPECTED EARLY
NEXT WEEK AS HIGH PRESSURE RETURNS AND ONSHORE FLOW WEAKENS. THIS
WILL BRING SOME DRYING TO THE FOOTHILLS AND MOUNTAINS AS THE
MARINE LAYER DEPTH SHRINKS BELOW 1500 FT. THE LATEST COMPUTER
MODELS CONTINUE TO TREND COOLER FOR THE MIDDLE AND END OF NEXT
WEEK.

Discussion from SFOFWFHNX

AN UPPER TROUGH WILL MOVE INTO CALIFORNIA TODAY
AND REMAIN OVER THE REGION THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THE INFLUENCE
OF THE UPPER TROUGH WILL BE FELT IN THE FORM OF COOLER
TEMPERATURES AND A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
OVER THE SIERRA NEVADA FROM TODAY THROUGH SUNDAY. BY SUNDAY...
HIGH PRESSURE WILL REBUILD FOR A WARMING AND DRYING TREND.

Discussion from RNOFWFVEF

SOUTHWEST FLOW AHEAD OF A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL KEEP
MOST OF THE AREA DRY TODAY AND TONIGHT. HOWEVER...THERE COULD BE AN
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM THIS AFTERNOON OVER THE SIERRA AND IN EASTERN
LINCOLN AND NORTHERN MOHAVE COUNTIES. SOUTHEAST FLOW WILL THEN PULL
MOISTURE BACK INTO THE AREA OVER THE WEEKEND LEADING TO A CHANCE OF
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS AS THE AREA OF LOW PRESSURE MOVES THROUGH
THE REGION. DRY CONDITIONS AND ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES ARE THEN
EXPECTED THROUGH THE FIRST HALF OF NEXT WEEK.

Discussion from PHXFWFPSR

CHANCES FOR AFTERNOON AND EVENING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL
CONTINUE ACROSS SOUTH-CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST ARIZONA FOR THE NEXT
SEVERAL DAYS...WITH MAINLY CLEAR SKIES AND A SLIGHTLY DRIER AIRMASS
ACROSS SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA. HUMIDITY READINGS WILL REMAIN ELEVATED
ACROSS THE AREA EXCEPT FOR SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA WHERE MINIMUM VALUES
WILL APPROACH 20 PERCENT. EXPECT WINDS TO REMAIN LIGHT FOLLOWING
DIURNAL TRENDS.

...THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY STRONG GUSTY AND ERRATIC WINDS...

NOTE...ADDITIONAL FIRE WEATHER FORECAST INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND
IN THE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. SEE PRODUCT PHXAFDPSR.
