...FLOOD POTENTIAL...

THE FLOOD POTENTIAL IS LOW FOR THE ENTIRE STATE THROUGH THE WEEKEND.

...HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION....

RELATIVELY QUIET WEATHER THIS WEEKEND WITH AN UPPER LOW OVER THE
SEWARD PENINSULA BRINGING SOME COOLER TEMPERATURES TO WESTERN
ALASKA.  BY MIDWEEK THE PATTERN BECOMES MORE ACTIVE... AND LOOKS TO
REMAIN ACTIVE INTO THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND.

...SNOW...

REPORTED LOW-MID ELEVATION SNOW DEPTHS ARE GENERALLY 46 INCHES OR
LESS ACROSS THE MAINLAND.  OVER THE LAST 7 DAYS SNOW DEPTHS HAVE
GENERALLY REMAINED THE SAME OR INCREASED OVER THE MAINLAND...
ALTHOUGH SMALL DECREASES WERE REPORTED IN THE INTERIOR NORTH OF THE
ALASKA RANGE.  SNOW DEPTH ALSO GENERALLY DECREASED OVER SOUTHEAST
ALASKA.  THE LARGEST REPORTED INCREASES WERE GENERALLY IN THE
MOUNTAINS ON THE EASTERN KENAI PENINSULA AND AROUND PRINCE WILLIAM
SOUND.

ICE THICKNESS MEASUREMENTS FOR THE START OF FEBRUARY INCLUDE: 25
INCHES IN ANCHORAGE... 25 TO 29 INCHES IN THE MATSU VALLEY... 37
INCHES AT BETHEL... 30 TO 37 INCHES IN THE MIDDLE KUSKOKWIM RIVER...
34 INCHES AT LAKE MINCHUMINA... 11 TO 35 INCHES IN THE FAIRBANKS
AREA... 34 INCHES AT BETTLES... AND 38 INCHES AT COLVILLE VILLAGE.

...LONG RANGE...

THE 6 TO 10 DAY TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED PROBABILITIES OF
ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES OVER THE SOUTHERN MAINLAND... MOST OF THE
INTERIOR... AND OVER NORTHERN AND CENTRAL SOUTHEAST ALASKA.  THERE
ARE INCREASED PROBABILITIES OF BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES OVER THE
NORTH SLOPE.

THE 6 TO 10 DAY PRECIPITATION OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED PROBABILITIES OF
ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPITATION OVER THE MAINLAND... AND INCREASED
PROBABILITIES OF BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION OVER SOUTHERN SOUTHEAST
ALASKA.
