5 Day Ice Discussion...
High pressure will linger over the northern Great Lakes through Thursday.
Meanwhile...an area of low pressure will move up the Ohio Valley tonight
and early Thursday. Another storm system will impact the region on
Thursday night and Friday. High pressure will build back across the
northern and central lakes Friday night and Saturday. Yet another strong
low will move northeast across the region Saturday night and Sunday
causing winds to briefly increase. A cold front from the low will be east
the region by late Sunday. High pressure will reestablish itself across
the region for Monday.

Winds on the lakes will be mainly under 15 knots the next 24 hours or so.
Easterly flow will develop region wide on Thursday. The flow will return
to light westerly all areas by late Friday.

Temperatures will remain above normal all areas through early next week.
Continued ice deterioration is expected on the southern and central lakes
during this period. No more than slow growth is expected on the northern
Great Lakes. Even though winds most of the period will be fairly
light...some shifting of existing ice floes is likely...especially on Lake
Erie.
