Hydrologic Statement

the following rivers or creeks: Grand River at Dimondale...Grand
Ledge...Kalamazoo River at Battle Creek...Battle Creek at Battle
Creek...Pere Marquette River at Scottville...Muskegon River at
Evart...Pine River at Alma...

.Widespread steady rainfall will continue to develop through the day
Monday, affecting a large part of Lower Michigan. 48-hour rainfall
forecasts are expected to generally range from 1 to 3 inches with
locally higher amounts possible across Southern Lower Michigan. A few
thunderstorms may be embedded within the shield of rain, resulting in
periods of locally heavy rain at times. The best chance for
thunderstorms of this nature will come between late Monday and
Tuesday evening.

A combination of higher than normal river levels, forecast rainfall,
snowmelt and frozen soil will lead to many streams and rivers topping
their banks. Very little if any moisture will be soaked into the
ground layer with runoff providing a rapid influx of water to rivers.
