WEATHER SUMMARY FOR NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHICAGO/ROMEOVILLE IL
1145 PM CDT FRI JUL 31 2015

DURING THE EARLY TO MID MORNING HOURS...A WEAK DISTURBANCE PASSED
THROUGH THE NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA REGION. THIS
DISTURBANCE PRODUCED AN AREA OF CLOUDS WITH AN ISOLATED SHOWER OR
TWO. BY LATE MORNING MOST OF THE CLOUDS HAD DISSIPATED LEAVING
MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES. AS THE NOON HOUR APPROACHED...THE TEMPERATURES
WERE IN THE LOWER 80S WITH WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS GUSTING TO 25 MPH
AT TIMES.

SKIES WILL BE MOSTLY SUNNY THIS AFTERNOON WITH HIGHS IN THE MID TO
UPPER 80S AND RELATIVELY COMFORTABLE HUMIDITY LEVELS. WINDS WILL BE
WESTERLY WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH. SKIES WILL BE CLEAR AGAIN TONIGHT
WITH LOWS IN THE 60S.

WARM TEMPERATURES...BUT FAIRLY COMFORTABLE HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL
CONTINUE THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THE CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL
RETURN SATURDAY EVENING AND NIGHT...HOWEVER CONFIDENCE IS CURRENTLY
LOW ON OVERALL TIMING AND EVOLUTION OF THE THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL...
SO STAY TUNED.

A RARE BLUE MOON WILL OCCUR TONIGHT...BUT IT WILL NOT BE THE COLOR
BLUE. THERE ARE TWO DEFINITIONS OF A BLUE MOON. THE OCCURRENCE
TONIGHT FALLS UNDER THE NEWER DEFINITION...THAT IT IS THE SECOND
FULL MOON TO OCCUR IN A CALENDAR MONTH. THE NEXT BLUE MOON TO OCCUR
BASED ON THAT DEFINITION WILL BE MAY 21 2016.
