...ACCUMULATING SNOW POSSIBLE FOR CHRISTMAS EVE...

A STORM SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO TRACK NORTH FROM THE GULF STATES
TONIGHT INTO EAST CENTRAL INDIANA BY WEDNESDAY EVENING. THIS STORM
WILL BRING ANOTHER ROUND OF RAIN TO MOST OF THE AREA STARTING
TONIGHT WITH THE RAIN MIXING WITH OR CHANGING OVER TO WET SNOW ON
WEDNESDAY AS COLDER AIR FILTERS INTO THE REGION. CURRENT INDICATIONS
SUGGEST THE MORE SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW WILL OCCUR ALONG
THE INTERSTATE 55 CORRIDOR WHERE 2 TO 3 INCHES OF SNOW MAY FALL
WITH SOME ISOLATED 4 INCH AMOUNTS NORTH OF BLOOMINGTON. SNOWFALL
AMOUNTS WILL TAPER OFF WEST OF THE ILLINOIS RIVER VALLEY WHERE
AMOUNTS WILL BE AROUND 1 INCH...AND OVER SOUTHEAST ILLINOIS WHERE
UP TO 1 INCH OF WET SNOW MAY ACCUMULATE.

FOR THOSE WITH HOLIDAY TRAVEL PLANS ON WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY
NIGHT...PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL FOR A PERIOD OF HEAVY WET
SNOW THAT WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. THERE IS STILL
CONSIDERABLE UNCERTAINTY WITH RESPECT TO STORM TRACK...WHICH WILL
HAVE A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON JUST WHERE THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL
FALL...IN ADDITION TO JUST HOW QUICKLY THE RAIN WILL CHANGE OVER
TO SNOW ON WEDNESDAY. KEEP UP TO DATE WITH THE LATEST FORECASTS ON
THIS POTENTIAL FOR ACCUMULATING SNOW ON WEDNESDAY.
