URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...ICE STORM WINDING DOWN ACROSS CENTRAL IOWA THIS EVENING AND
CONTINUING ACROSS NORTHERN IOWA...

.THE POTENT WINTER STORM THAT BROUGHT TWO TO FOUR TENTHS OF ICE
ACCUMULATIONS TO MUCH OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN IOWA YESTERDAY INTO
TODAY WAS NEARING THE KANSAS CITY METRO AREA LATE THIS AFTERNOON
AND SHOULD REACH ILLINOIS DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS TUESDAY.
ADDITIONAL LIGHT PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS WILL CONTINUE ALONG AND
NORTH OF ITS TRACK INTO TONIGHT. THE SIGNIFICANT ICING HAS ENDED
HOWEVER...SO ONLY WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES REMAIN OVER ROUGHLY
THE NORTH HALF OF THE STATE WHERE TEMPERATURES REMAIN AT OR JUST
BELOW FREEZING.

  ACCUMULATIONS GENERALLY AROUND A FEW HUNDREDTHS TO ONE TENTH OF
  AN INCH MAY OCCUR THROUGH TONIGHT. AN INCH OR LESS OF SNOW MAY
  ALSO ACCUMULATE BY THE EARLY MORNING HOURS TUESDAY.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL DUE TO ICE COVERED AND SLICK ROADS.
  SIDEWALKS AND PARKING LOTS AND OTHER UNTREATED SURFACES WILL
  BE SLICK.

  FREEZING RAIN OR FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL PERSIST THROUGH MIDNIGHT
  AS TEMPERATURES HOVER AROUND THE FREEZING MARK.
