...The National Weather Service in Albuquerque NM has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in New Mexico...

  Rio Chama Below Chamita affecting Rio Arriba County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

The next statement will be issued this evening around 1000 PM MDT.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast from snow melt and water release.

* WHERE...Rio Chama below Chamita.

* WHEN...From this evening until further notice.

* IMPACTS...Flood level will reach 6.0 feet.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:00 AM MDT Monday the stage was 5.7 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 5.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    this evening and continue rising to a crest of 6.2 feet early
    Wednesday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    6.1 feet on 07/26/2001.
