AKZ155-122000- /O.EXT.PAFC.FA.A.0004.000000T0000Z-240512T2000Z/ /00000.0.IJ.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Kuskokwim Delta- Including the cities of Bethel and Nunivak Island 1118 AM AKDT Thu May 9 2024 ...FLOOD WATCH FOR AN ICE JAM FLOODING HAS BEEN EXTENDED THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by ice jams continues to be possible. * WHERE...The following area, Kuskokwim River near Eek, Napaskiak, Napakiak, Oscarville and Tuntuliak. * WHEN...Through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...The Kuskokwim River is continuing to flood from Kwethluk downstream to the coastal villages. Firm ice is still in place below Napaskiak. Flooding of low lying and flood prone areas along the Kuskokwim River continues to be possible. Residents should be prepared for high water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - River-watch reconnaissance shows the Kuskokwim River breakup front impounded water extending upstream through near Kwethluk. A significant amount of water is behind the front. Flooding from this water is likely. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Now is the time to take precautions.
