...River Statement For The Tallapoosa River...


The Tallapoosa River at Milstead.
* At 4:30 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 15.3 feet.
* Action stage is 15.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 40.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river has crested and will fall back below 15.0
  feet tonight.
* Impact...At 15.0 feet...Overflow of pasture lands occurs. Cattle
  may need to be moved if higher stages are forecast.


Another statement will be issued by late tonight, or sooner if
conditions warrant.

Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather radio or your local media for
later statements concerning this event.

It is emphasized that these forecasts are based on rainfall that has
already occurred and on additional rainfall expected during the next
48 hours.  If more rainfall than is currently forecast occurs it may
become necessary to revise these forecasts upward.
