...SPRINGFIELD NOAA WEATHER RADIO REMAINS OFF THE AIR...

NOAA Weather Radio station WXJ-75 in Springfield, which operates
on a frequency of 162.400 MHz, has been off the air since about
midday Friday. Electrical problems developed as a result of an
emergency generator replacement last week. Transmitter technicians
and the phone company are aware of the problem, but state that
repairs will take some time due to the extent of the issue. The
transmitter will likely remain off the air through at least
Monday.

Some surrounding transmitters that serve part of the WXJ-75
listening area include:

* KZZ-65 in Bloomington (162.525 MHz)
* WXJ-76 in Champaign (162.550 MHz)
* KXI-79 in Hillsboro (162.425 MHz)
* WXM-90 in Jacksonville (162.525 MHz)
* WXJ-92 in Macomb (162.500 MHz)
* WXJ-71 in Peoria (162.475 MHz)
* KXI-46 in Shelbyville (162.500 MHz)
