Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
246 PM CDT Sat Apr 20 2024

.DISCUSSION...Widespread rain and isolated thunderstorm chances
the rest of this evening into tomorrow afternoon will mitigate
the fireWX danger for the period. Isolated severe storms capable
of producing damaging wind gusts, large hail and heavy downpour
will be possible through this evening along and south the Hwy-84
corridor and east of I-55. In addition a limited flash flooding
threat will exist through tomorrow morning as 1-3 inches is
expected in this timeframe. Behind a cold front moving through
the area cooler and drier air will follow late this weekend into
early next week. Dense fog isnt expected however patchy fog will
be possible in between bouts of rainfall overnight into tomorrow
morning.
