...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Illinois, including the following
  counties, northwestern Monroe and northwestern Saint Clair and
  east central Missouri, including the following counties,
  northeastern Jefferson and south central Saint Louis.

* WHEN...Until 845 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 545 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Belleville, O`Fallon, East St. Louis, Arnold, Fairview
    Heights, Cahokia, Swansea, Shiloh, Waterloo, Columbia,
    Pevely, Centreville, Freeburg, Dupo, Millstadt, Byrnes Mill,
    Oakville, Mehlville, Lemay and Cahokia Parks Airport.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
