Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
1001 AM MDT Thu Apr 18 2024

...Red Flag Warning is in effect for the San Luis Valley for both
this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon.

.Discussion...

For the next couple of afternoons, critical fire weather conditions
are expected to occur over the San Luis Valley as gusty west to
southwest winds are expected along with low humidity values.

Over the plains, it will remain cool with areas of low clouds
during the next couple of days.

On Saturday, additional cooler air will overspread the entire
district. There will also be an increasing chance of showers over
a good part of the district.

Sunday it will once again start to warm up across the region, but
critical fire weather conditions are not anticipated.

Critical to near critical fire weather conditions will once again
return to the region early next week, especially across the San
Luis Valley and the southern I-25 corridor region.

Smoke dispersion will be vary considerably across the district over
the next couple of days. Please see the zone forecast below for
specific smoke dispersion forecasts.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
