...POTENTIAL FOR MINOR RIVER FLOODING ON THE SOUTH PLATTE RIVER
AT ROSCOE...

The combination of recent heavy precipitation in Colorado and
runoff upstream poses the potential for rises on the South Platte
river at Roscoe, NE affecting Deuel and Keith counties. While
minor river flooding is possible, there is uncertainty in how much
river levels will rise beyond Julesburg, Colorado.

River levels are anticipated to start rising early Monday morning
and will continue through the week. The latest stage was 3.6
feet at 9:30 AM MDT. River levels are forecast to reach minor
flood stage Wednesday night. Flood stage is 9.0 feet.

The forecast may vary if actual total precipitation or runoff is
greater or less than forecast. Minor flood stage presents the
potential for minor flooding of agricultural land along the river.

Later statements will be issued as additional information becomes
available.
