THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* A PORTION OF NORTH AND CENTRAL NEW MEXICO...INCLUDING THE
  FOLLOWING AREAS...ALBUQUERQUE METRO AREA...CENTRAL HIGHLANDS...
  EAST SLOPES SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS...EASTERN LINCOLN COUNTY...
  ESTANCIA VALLEY...FAR NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS...GUADALUPE COUNTY...
  JEMEZ MOUNTAINS...LOWER CHAMA RIVER VALLEY...LOWER RIO GRANDE
  VALLEY...NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS...NORTHERN SANGRE DE CRISTO
  MOUNTAINS ABOVE 9500 FEET/RED RIVER...NORTHWEST HIGHLANDS...

* UNTIL 6 AM MDT SATURDAY

* ABUNDANT MOISTURE IS IN PLACE OVER MUCH OF NORTHERN AND CENTRAL
  NEW MEXICO...AND A WEAK DISTURBANCE ALOFT WILL BE ENTERING
  NORTHERN PARTS OF THE STATE THROUGH THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT.
  IN ADDITION...STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO MOVE VERY SLOWLY THROUGH
  EARLY MORNING...AND THIS SCENARIO WILL LEAD TO A HEIGHTENED
  RISK FOR FLASH FLOODING. WITH ABUNDANT MOISTURE IN PLACE SOME OF
  THE STRONGER STORMS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS
  WITH RAIN AT RATES NEAR 1 INCH IN JUST A HALF HOUR.

* LOCATIONS WHERE THE GROUND IS ALREADY SATURATED FROM RECENT
  RAINFALL WILL BE FAVORED FOR FLASH FLOODING. OTHER VULNERABLE
  LOCATIONS WILL INCLUDE STEEP TERRAIN...URBAN AREAS AND BURN
  SCARS. KEEP A WATCHFUL EYE ON ARROYOS AND SMALL STREAMS...AND
  STAY OUT OF FLOODED LOW WATER CROSSINGS. MONITOR THE LATEST
  FORECASTS CLOSELY AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION IF A
  WARNING OR ADVISORY IS ISSUED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO
FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLASH
FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
