The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Lee County in east central Alabama...
  Russell County in southeastern Alabama...

* Until 1045 AM CDT

* At 752 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms was developing across the area. Some areas in
northern Lee County have already received over an inch of rain
during the past hour. Additional heavy rain is expected to develop
across the area during the next hour with additional totals of one
to two inches likely. This will produce localized flooding of
streets and roadways across the area...especially in low-lying
flood prones with poor drainage or near small creeks and streams.

This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory
  area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Auburn, Phenix City, Opelika, Notasulga, Hurtsboro, Smiths, Smiths
Station, Waverly, Beulah, Uchee, Beans Mill, Auburn University,
Beauregard, Bleecker, Russell County Sports Complex, Seale,
Ladonia, Griffen Mill, Loachapoka and Chewacla State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
