FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL/NORTHERN VERMONT AND
NORTHERN NEW YORK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
513 AM EDT FRI SEP 19 2014

...DRY THROUGH SATURDAY FOLLOWED BY SOME WET WEATHER SUNDAY...

.DISCUSSION...
A LARGE HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE FORECAST AREA THIS MORNING
WILL MOVE TO THE GULF OF MAINE BY THIS EVENING. AFTER A COLD AND
FROSTY START TO THE DAY...THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF SUNSHINE WITH
LIGHT WINDS AND MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITIES BETWEEN 25 AND 30
PERCENT THIS AFTERNOON. AS THE HIGH MOVES OFF THE NEW ENGLAND
COAST TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY...IT WILL TURN MILDER AND REMAIN
MOSTLY DRY. IN ADDITION...SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL BECOME GUSTY DURING
SATURDAY...ALTHOUGH MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY WILL ONLY BE AROUND
50 PERCENT. THERE WILL BE AN INCREASING CHANCE OF SHOWERS LATER
SATURDAY NIGHT AND ESPECIALLY ON SUNDAY AS A COLD FRONT MOVES EAST
FROM THE GREAT LAKES. THE FRONT WILL CLEAR THE AREA DURING
MONDAY...AND IT LOOKS AS IF WE WILL BE IN FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD
OF DRY WEATHER NEXT WEEK AS A LARGE UPPER RIDGE BUILDS EAST FROM
THE MIDWEST.
