FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
230 PM EDT MON SEP 29 2014

.DISCUSSION...PERIODS OF SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH
THIS EVENING AS LOW PRESSURE FROM THE NORTHEASTERN GULF OF MEXICO
MOVES NORTHEAST AND OFF THE GEORGIA-CAROLINA COAST. RAINFALL WILL BE
GENERALLY LIGHT...WITH THE LOW PRESSURE NOW PROJECTED TO TRACK FARTHER
SOUTH AND EAST OF THE AREA THAN ORIGINALLY THOUGHT.

A WEAK PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL PROVIDE POOR DISPERSION OVERNIGHT INTO
TUESDAY MORNING...WITH GOOD LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE PRESENT. HOWEVER...
CONSIDERABLE CLOUDINESS WILL INHIBIT ANY SIGNIFICANT FOG DEVELOPMENT.

WITH THE LOW PRESSURE MOVING SLOWLY EAST AWAY FROM THE COAST TUESDAY...
HIGH PRESSURE WILL BEGIN SUPPLYING DRIER AIR FROM THE NORTHWEST
BY MID- TO LATE MORNING. AS A RESULT...CLOUDS WILL STEADILY ERODE FROM
WEST TO EAST THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. SURFACE AND TRANSPORT WINDS WILL
BE VARIABLE AND GENERALLY LESS THAN 10 MPH. AFTERNOON MAXIMUM MIXING
HEIGHTS WILL RANGE FROM 3000 TO 3500 FEET...WITH MINIMUM RELATIVE
HUMIDITIES NEAR 50 PERCENT.
