FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
255 PM EDT THU SEP 3 2015

.DISCUSSION...
A SLOW CHANGE IN THE PATTERN IS UNDERWAY AS MOISTURE WILL INCREASE
AS ANOTHER WEAK TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE SHIFTS THROUGH THE REGION...
FOLLOWED BY A BACK DOOR COLD FRONT LATE FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY. CHANCE
FOR ISOLATED SHOWERS THIS AFTERNOON MAINLY IN THE SOUTHERN FORECAST
AREA WILL INCREASE MORE TO SCATTERED ON FRIDAY ASSOCIATED WITH ENERGY
ALOFT AND CONVERGENCE IN A MORE UNSTABLE AIRMASS AHEAD OF THE FRONT.
MIN RH VALUES WILL BE AROUND 35 TO 40 PERCENT THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND
SLIGHTLY HIGHER ON FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY. LOW CONFIDENCE IN BOTH SURFACE
AND TRANSPORT WINDS DUE TO VERY LIGHT WIND FLOW IN THE LOWEST 5000 FT
TO THE SURFACE...AND INCREASING CONFIDENCE ON A NORTHEASTERLY SHIFT
ALONG WITH AN INCREASE ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS
IN BEHIND THE FRONT. PATCHY AREAS OF FOG ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP IN
LOW-LYING FOG PRONE AREAS FRIDAY MORNING ESPECIALLY IN THE SOUTHERN
MIDLANDS AND CSRA.
