FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
340 AM CDT WED JUL 23 2014

.DISCUSSION...
WITH WEAK AND VARIABLE WIND FLOW IN PLACE TODAY AND
THURSDAY, SMOKE DISPERSION VALUES WILL REMAIN GENERALLY
POOR TO FAIR. CONSEQUENTLY, LVORI VALUES WILL BE HIGH
TONIGHT AS WELL. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL
BE POSSIBLE TODAY, WITH A GREATER CHANCE ON THURSDAY
AND THURSDAY NIGHT AS A COLD FRONT DROPS SOUTHEAST THROUGH
THE REGION. IN ADDITION TO CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING, THE
STORMS WILL BRING LOCALLY HEAVY DOWNPOURS AND BRIEF GUSTY
WINDS. DRIER AIR WILL ARRIVE BEHIND THE FRONT FOR FRIDAY
AND INTO THE WEEKEND, BUT HOT TEMPERATURES ARE STILL
EXPECTED IN THE LOWER 90S SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AFTERNOONS.
