FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA

.DISCUSSION...A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE AREA WILL WEAKEN
TONIGHT. A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO MOVE SOUTHEAST
OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC THURSDAY AND MOVE OVER THE AREA FRIDAY. A RIDGE
OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL THEN BUILD OVER THE AREA FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY.
THE MARINE LAYER WAS AROUND 2000 FEET ASL THIS MORNING AND IS EXPECTED TO
RANGE FROM 1600 FEET NORTH OF POINT CONCEPTION TO 2200 FEET ASL SOUTH TONIGHT.
THE MARINE LAYER IS EXPECTED TO DEEPEN TO APPROXIMATELY 3000 FEET THURSDAY
NIGHT THEN RETREAT SEAWARD SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY. A COOLING TREND WILL
CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY AND TEMPERATURES WILL LIKELY COOL TO 2 TO 4 DEGREES
BELOW SEASONAL NORMAL BY FRIDAY. A WARMING TREND IS EXPECTED SATURDAY THROUGH
SUNDAY AND INLAND TEMPERATURES WILL LIKELY BE 3 TO 5 DEGREES ABOVE SEASONAL
NORMAL SATURDAY WHERE THE COASTAL TEMPERATURES WILL BE 1 TO 3 DEGREES BELOW
NORMAL. AND BY SUNDAY TEMPERATURES WILL LIKELY BE 3 TO 9 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL
OVER THE ENTIRE AREA. MODERATE RELATIVE HUMIDITY RECOVERY IS EXPECTED IN THE
