Fire Weather Planning Forecast For West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
247 AM CST Fri Feb 23 2018

.DISCUSSION...

After another foggy and drizzly morning across much of the region, we
will begin to dry out and warm up this afternoon through the weekend.
Elevated fire weather conditions are possible this afternoon across
the Guadalupe Mountains where rh`s will near 15 percent with 20 foot
winds around 20 mph. Winds will increase areawide Saturday as
afternoon rh`s fall below 15 percent. The recent cold snap and moist
conditions have allowed ERC values to fall below 25 percent across
the region. For this reason, will likely opt to issue an RFD for this
event with elevated fire weather conditions expected. Similar
conditions are possible Sunday before stronger winds diminish and
moisture returns early next week.
