.DISCUSSION...Very hot, dry weather continues today. An upper trough
will approach from the southwest and bring a chance for thunderstorms
to much of the area this afternoon through Monday evening. Storms are
expected to initiate over the mountains in western Siskiyou County and
in the Southern Oregon Cascades this afternoon. In the evening, storms
are expected to spread northeast into western valleys in Jackson and
Josephine counties and into northern Klamath county. Storms may also occur
tonight, and these would tend to be dry, and are more likely to
affect western valleys. On Monday, expect continued chances for
thunderstorms as the trough moves inland with the best chances for
storms shifting slightly eastward by late Monday afternoon and Monday
evening. Significant lightning and erratic gusty winds are possible with
these storms and may lead to increased initial attack.
