FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR GUAM
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TIYAN GU
1117 AM CHST TUE MAR 3 2015

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

.DISCUSSION...A LINE OF SHOWERS DEVELOPED OVER GUAM YESTERDAY
GIVING SOME CENTRAL LOCATIONS WETTING RAINS. HOWEVER...SOUTHERN
GUAM REMAINS VERY DRY AND VULNERABLE TO WILDFIRES. A WEAK
DISTURBANCE WILL PASS OVER THE MARIANAS THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT
THAT MAY GIVE SOME LOCATIONS WETTING RAINS BUT OVERALL CONDITIONS
ACROSS THE ISLAND WILL REMAIN VERY DRY. IN GENERAL...DRY WEATHER
WILL MAINTAIN THE POTENTIAL FOR WILDFIRES THROUGH AT LEAST
THURSDAY. WINDS WILL PRODUCE FAVORABLE CONDITIONS FOR THE RAPID
SPREAD OF WILDFIRES BY WEDNESDAY...LIKELY PROMPTING THE ISSUANCE
OF A RED FLAG WARNING ON WEDNESDAY AFTER THE ASSESSMENT OF
RAINFALL TOTALS OVERNIGHT. THE KBDI FOR TODAY REMAINS EXTREME AT
653. THE KBDI IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO RISE AND COULD REACH 700
AROUND THE 13TH.
