Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Washington and North Idaho
National Weather Service Spokane WA
301 PM PDT Tue Aug 22 2017

.DISCUSSION...

...Cold front passage late Wednesday night/early Thursday...

Warm temperatures and fair to poor overnight recoveries will
bring a period of increased fire activity to regional fires
through Wednesday. A cold front approaches tomorrow and slides
through the area Wednesday night into Thursday. Showers and
embedded thunderstorms are expected to impact southeastern
Washington and north Idaho overnight into early Thursday morning
then dry and breezy conditions develop area wide Thursday
afternoon. The Kittitas Valley may flirt with critical
wind/humidity levels. Very dry air returns by Friday depsite
cooler temperatures. A strong warming trend is likely Saturday and
lasting into at least early next week with low relative humidity
each day with poor humidity recoveries each night mid slopes and
ridge tops.

Forecasts for 20 foot wind speeds (valleys and ridge tops) are
10 minute averages reflecting RAWS wind.
