Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western and Central Wyoming
National Weather Service Riverton WY
1256 AM MDT Fri Jul 21 2017

.DISCUSSION...

...Yellowstone NP and Teton dispatch areas (includes fire weather
zones 140...414...415...and 416)...

Mainly dry weather will be the rule from Friday and into the weekend
as high pressure builds into the area. Relative humidity may fall to
around 15 percent in portions of the basins. However, wind will
remain light to moderate for the most part so critical fire weather
is not expected. Mixing and smoke dispersal will range from fair in
some of the basins to very good in the normally breezier areas.

...Rawlins dispatch area (includes fire weather zones 277...278...
279...and 289)...

Drier weather should be the rule today. However, there will be
enough leftover moisture for a isolated showers and thunderstorms,
mainly in Zone 279 and especially south of Interstate 80. Outside of
any shower or thunderstorm, wind should remain light to moderate.
Relative humidity may fall to around 15 percent at times, especially
in eastern portions of Zone 279. Mixing and smoke dispersal will be
generally good to excellent.

...Cody dispatch area (includes fire weather zones 275...276...
282...283...285...286...287...288...and 289)...

Mainly dry weather will be the rule from Friday and into the
weekend as high pressure builds into the area. Relative humidity may
fall to around 15 percent in portions of the basins. However, wind
will remain light to moderate for the most part so critical fire
weather is not expected. Mixing and smoke dispersal will range from
fair in some of the basins to very good in the normally breezier
areas.

...Casper dispatch area (includes fire weather zones 280...281...
285...289...and 300)...

Mainly dry weather will be the rule from Friday and into the weekend
as high pressure builds into the area. The exception will be across
Casper Mountain and possibly southern Zone 289 where a stray
afternoon thunderstorm is possible but these will be few and far
between.Relative humidity may fall to around 15 percent in the
lower elevations. However, wind will remain light to moderate for
the most part so critical fire weather is not expected. A
gusty breeze may blow this morning in Zone 281 but will occur
with the lowest humidity. Mixing and smoke dispersal will range from
fair in the more protected areas to to very good in the normally
breezier areas.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds...
...Haines Index is high level Haines both day and night...
