Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Kansas and Southwest and Central Missouri
National Weather Service Springfield MO
240 AM CST Wed Dec 13 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Elevated fire weather conditions will exist across all the
districts today. Another dry cold front will push through the
region with south to southwest winds becoming west to northwest
behind the front. Gusty winds 15 to 25 mph with a few gusts to 30
mph along with low relative humidities will lead to an elevated
fire weather risk.

Another elevated fire weather day is expected on Saturday as dry
and mild conditions continue with stronger winds. There is some
good news though, a storm system is expected to develop over Texas
and lift northeast. This will bring our best chance for
widespread rains to the region, although amounts look to be on
the lighter side.
