FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS...
NORTHWEST LOUISIANA...EAST TEXAS...AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SHREVEPORT LA
452 AM CST FRI FEB 12 2016

.DISCUSSION...
EARLY THIS MORNING A NEARLY STATIONARY FRONTAL SYSTEM LAY WEST TO
EAST ACROSS PARTS OF EAST AND NORTHEAST TEXAS AND LOUISIANA...
NEAR A JACKSONVILLE TO CENTER TEXAS AND PLEASANT HILL...WINNFIELD...
AND GEORGETOWN LOUISIANA LINE. DEW POINTS POINTS WERE IN THE
UPPER TWENTIES OVER SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND PARTS OF SOUTHWEST
ARKANSAS AND IN THE UPPER FORTIES AND LOWER FIFTIES ACROSS DEEP
EAST TEXAS ACROSS LOWER PARTS OF NORTHWEST AND NORTH CENTRAL
LOUISIANA. DURING THE DAY TODAY THE BOUNDARY WILL MOVE SLOWLY
SOUTH...AS ADDITIONAL RE-ENFORCING AIR ARRIVES WITH ANOTHER
SURGE OF A COLD FRONT. THIS WILL SEND THE CURRENT BOUNDARY
TO THE INTERSTATE 10 CORRIDOR BY LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY
EVENING. A LARGE SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL BUILD SOUTH
ACROSS THE EASTERN HALF OF THE COUNTY WITH ITS CENTER
MOVING INTO THE UPPER MID WEST AND RIDGE REACHING ACROSS THE FOUR
STATE REGION AND INTO THE COASTAL SECTIONS OF THE GULF OVERNIGHT.
THE LARGE HIGH WILL SHIFT EAST WITH THE NORTHERLY WINDS BECOMING
EAST AND SOUTHEAST ON SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT...FOLLOWED BY
SOUTHERLY WINDS ON SUNDAY. THESE SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL ALLOW FOR
A WARM UP IN TEMPERATURES ALONG WITH RISING DEW POINTS AND
HUMIDITY LEVELS...AND ALSO PROVIDE RETURNING RAIN CHANCES FOR
SUNDAY. RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS BECOME LIKELY SUNDAY NIGHT INTO
MONDAY.
