.DISCUSSION...
AN UPPER TROUGH WILL MOVE ACROSS THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON
AND A COLD FRONT WILL CROSS THE AREA THIS EVENING. MOISTURE
ADVECTION AHEAD OF THE COLD FRONT WILL LIKELY KEEP AFTERNOON RH
VALUES FROM GETTING BELOW 30 PERCENT IN THE CSRA. SOME
DISAGREEMENT BETWEEN MODELS ON EXTENT OF SHOWER ACTIVITY TODAY.
THERE IS A CHANCE FOR SOME BRIEF SCATTERED SHOWERS OVER THE SPOT
LOCATION THIS AFTERNOON. AMOUNTS WOULD BE LIGHT. MIXING HEIGHTS
WILL BE HIGHER THAN NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR WITH VALUES
BETWEEN 5500 TO 6500 FT AGL.

STRONG SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS WILL DEVELOP BY EARLY AFTERNOON WITH
WIND GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH. WINDS WILL SHIFT FROM SW TODAY TO W EARLY
THIS EVENING BEHIND THE FRONT. W/SW TRANSPORT WINDS 25 TO 30 MPH
ARE EXPECTED TODAY. STRONG MIXING BEHIND THE FRONT THIS EVENING
SHOULD PREVENT AN INVERSION TONIGHT WITH WINDS STAYING UP MOST OF
THE NIGHT.

FOG IS NOT EXPECTED TO BE AN ISSUE WITH WELL MIXED LOW LEVELS
TONIGHT.

POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE FEEDBACK INCLUDING OBSERVATIONS TAKEN AT
THE BURN SITE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. YOU CAN USE THE SAME
WEBPAGE WHERE YOU REQUESTED THE SPOT FORECAST FOR THIS. YOU MAY
ALSO CALL OUR OFFICE IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS. HYSPLIT
OUTPUT HEIGHTS FOR THE NWS COLUMBIA AREA ARE 300, 750 AND 1500 METERS.
THESE VALUES ARE DIFFERENT THAN SURROUNDING OFFICES.
