.DISCUSSION...
AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL ONCE AGAIN BRING VERY WARM
TEMPERATURES TO SOUTHEAST TEXAS. THE HEAT WILL REMAIN THROUGH THE MIDDLE
OF THE MONTH. A WEAK BOUNDARY OVER THE WESTERN GULF WILL SERVE AS A FOCUS
FOR ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON. RAINFALL AMOUNTS...
IF ANY...WILL REMAIN LIGHT. GROUND FUELS CONTINUE TO DRY AND SHORT TERM
DROUGHT CONDITIONS HAVE DEVELOPED AND WILL INCREASE IN INTENSITY THROUGH
THE MIDDLE OF THE MONTH.

COMMENTS: SHORT TERM GUIDANCE IS MORE AGGRESSIVE WITH SHOWERS DEVELOPING
THIS MORNING. POTENTIAL FOR THUNDERSTORMS EXISTS BUT SUBSIDENCE FROM THE
UPPER LEVEL RIDGE WILL KEEP THUNDER ISOLATED. BEST CHANCE FOR THUNDER WILL
OCCUR BETWEEN NOON AND 3 PM. W-SW WIND THIS MORNING WILL BECOME SOUTH AND
PERHAPS EVEN S-SE BY EVENING. WIND SPEEDS WILL INCREASE TO AROUND 10-12
MPH IN THE LATE AFTN. MIXING HEIGHTS SHOULD TOP OUT AROUND 5000 FEET.
