...STRONG STORM TO IMPACT THE WESTERN BERING SEA STARTING
MONDAY...

A STRONG FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL PUSH INTO THE WESTERN BERING SEA BY
MIDDAY MONDAY AS AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE NEAR KAMCHATKA BEGINS TO
RAPIDLY INTENSIFY. MODELS HAVE BEEN QUITE CONSISTENT OVER THE PAST
SEVERAL DAYS SHOWING A LARGE SWATH OF 50 TO 60 KT WINDS IMPACTING
MUCH OF THE WESTERN BERING SEA LATE MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
HURRICANE FORCE WINDS GUSTS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS MUCH OF THE WATERS
OF THE BERING SEA ON TUESDAY BUT THERE IS STILL A DECENT POSSIBILITY
THAT SUSTAINED HURRICANE FORCE WINDS MAY BE OBSERVED ON TUESDAY.
BASED ON THE TRACK OF THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM, THE STRONGEST WINDS
WILL LIKELY AVOID THE ALEUTIAN ISLANDS WITH WINDS PEAKING AROUND
70 MPH ALONG THE WESTERN AND CENTRAL ALEUTIANS TUESDAY MORNING.
CONFIDENCE BEGINS TO DECREASE HEADING INTO WEDNESDAY BUT THE
POSSIBILITY FOR NEAR HURRICANE FORCE WINDS IMPACTING ST. PAUL AND
ST. GEORGE ISLANDS WILL NEED TO BE MONITORED CLOSELY.

HIGH SEAS WILL ALSO ACCOMPANY THIS SYSTEM. SEAS IN THE RANGE OF
25 TO 30 FT ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE WESTERN BERING SEA TUESDAY AND
INTO WEDNESDAY. EVEN HIGHER SEAS WILL BE OBSERVED ALONG THE
PACIFIC SIDE OF THE WESTERN AND CENTRAL ALEUTIANS ON TUESDAY AND
WEDNESDAY AS SEAS IN THE 35 TO 42 FT RANGE ARE EXPECTED. DUE TO
THE TROPICAL NATURE OF THIS SYSTEM, MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL
WILL ACCOMPANY THE STRONG WIND AND REDUCE VISIBILITY. MARINERS
WHO PLAN TO VOYAGE ACROSS THE WESTERN BERING SEA THIS UPCOMING
WEEK ARE URGED TO CLOSELY MONITOR THE SITUATION.
