...HIGH WIND WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PST THIS MORNING...

* WIND...NORTHEAST WIND 20 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 60 MPH. SANDY
  POINT SHORES REPORTED A WIND GUSTS OF 58 MPH AS RECENTLY AS 234
  AM.

* SOME AFFECTED LOCATIONS...THE WINDS WILL AFFECT LOCAL AREAS OF
  WESTERN WHATCOM COUNTY INCLUDING SUMAS...LYNDEN...FERNDALE...
  BELLINGHAM AND THE IMMEDIATE COAST FROM LUMMI ISLAND UP TO
  BIRCH BAY...AND THE SAN JUAN ISLANDS.

* TIMING...WINDS WILL DIMINISH SLOWLY EARLY THIS MORNING...THEN
  EASE MORE QUICKLY LATE THIS MORNING.

* IMPACTS...WINDS THIS STRONG CAN BREAK TREE LIMBS...TOPPLE
  SMALL TREES...AND CAUSE SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

HIGH WINDS CAN TOPPLE TREES ONTO ROADS...VEHICLES...AND ROOFTOPS.
FALLING TREES OR LARGE BRANCHES HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO CAUSE
FATALITIES DURING WINDSTORMS. DOWNED POWER LINES CAN CAUSE POWER
OUTAGES LASTING A COUPLE OF HOURS OR LONGER.
