.SYNOPSIS...Tropical Storm Jose was located near 39.6N 68.2W, or
about 130 nm SE of Nantucket, at 11 AM EDT, and is nearly
stationary with maximum sustained winds to 50 kt. Jose will drift
W to near 39.6N 68.9W by 8 AM EDT Fri, and to 39.5N 69.2W by 8 PM
EDT Fri night, while gradually weakening and becoming
post-tropical. Post-tropical Jose will then drift back eastward
across the waters Sat through Sun while continuing to weaken
before dissipating Mon. Hurricane Maria will approach from the S
Mon, and move to 30.5N 71.5W by 8 AM EDT Mon, and to 33N 70W by
8 AM EDT Tue. S to SE swell from Maria will move through the area
Fri into Mon night. Refer to the latest National Hurricane Center
advisories for Tropical Storm Jose and Hurricane Maria.
Otherwise, a weak high pres ridge will persist over the S and
central waters today through Sat, then weaken and dissipate Sat
night.
