FIRE DANGER STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BROWNSVILLE TX
455 AM CDT WED AUG 5 2015

...AN ENHANCE FIRE RISK IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM TODAY...

ZAPATA, JIM HOGG AND BROOKS AND FAR WESTERN STARR COUNTIES WILL
SEE DRY, HOT AND BREEZY CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON. THE COMBINATION
OF THESE ELEMENTS WITH GRADUALLY CURING FUELS OF TALL GRASS TO
ENHANCE THE THREAT OF ERRATIC FIRE BEHAVIOR IN CASE OF ANY FIRE
STARTS. THE MODERATELY STRONG WINDS LOW HUMIDITIES TO COMBINE
ACTING AS AGENTS FOR THE POTENTIAL OF RAPID FIRE SPREAD AND
GROWTH. ALTHOUGH FUELS ARE NOT COMPLETELY CURED THE PERSISTENT DRY
AND HOT CONDITIONS AND RECENT FIRE STARTS HAVE RAISED THE WILD
FIRE THREAT THROUGH THE WESTERN AND AND NORTHERN RANCH LANDS AND
PORTIONS OF THE FAR UPPER RIO GRANDE VALLEY OF STARR COUNTY.
