...RIVERS AND STREAMS RUNNING NEAR BANKFULL THROUGH SUNDAY...

CONTINUED RAIN OVER THE NORTHERN PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST ALASKA WILL
KEEP RIVERS AND STREAM RUNNING HIGH FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS. AS OF
1 PM SUNDAY AFTERNOON...THE CHILKAT RIVER LEVEL HAS LEVELED OFF AT
126.1 FEET...BELOW THE BANKFULL STAGE OF 126.5 FEET. THE CHILKAT IS
NOT EXPECTED TO FLOOD AND IS EXPECTED TO START TO DROP THIS
EVENING.

THE TAIYA RIVER HAS REMAINING STEADY AT AROUND 16.6 FEET...JUST
ABOVE MINOR FLOOD STAGE OF 16.5 FEET. WITH THE DECLINING RAINFALL
WATER LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO DROP BELOW MINOR FLOOD STAGE LATER
THIS AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE TO SLOWLY DROP THROUGH THE NIGHT. WE
WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE TAIYA THROUGH TONIGHT.

AFTER FALLING BELOW 8 FEET OVERNIGHT...MENDENHALL LAKE IS ONCE
AGAIN RISING AND IS CURRENTLY AT 8.8 FEET. THE LAKE IS EXPECTED TO
LEVEL OFF JUST BELOW MINOR FLOOD STAGE LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND
THEN START TO SLOWLY FALL AGAIN TONIGHT. MINOR FLOOD STAGE FOR THE
LAKE IS 9.0 FEET. THE MENDENHALL RIVER HAS LEVELED OFF AT AROUND
10.0 FEET TODAY...BELOW THE BACKFULL STAGE OF 10.5 FEET AND IS
EXPECTED TO REMAIN STEADY OR SLOWLY FALL THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT.
BOTH MENDENHALL LAKE AND RIVER WILL BE WATCHED CLOSELY THROUGH
TONIGHT.

JORDAN AND MONTANA CREEKS HAVE BEEN FLUCTUATING OVERNIGHT AND THIS
MORNING BUT ARE STILL SHOWING A DOWNWARD TREND. BOTH CREEKS REMAIN
AT LEAST A FOOT BELOW BANKFULL STAGE AND ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
TO SLOWLY DROP THROUGH THE EVENING.
