Backcountry Forecast for western Montana and north central Idaho
National Weather Service Missoula MT
359 AM MST Tue Feb 21 2017

DISCUSSION:
Precipitation will move northward across the Northern Rockies
again today, with slowly modifying snow levels throughout the day.
However, northwest Montana could remain all snow in most
locations, and mountain snowfall is expected to be moderate to
heavy at times. In addition, along the Continental Divide and
southwest Montana will experience strong gusty winds throughout
today. A much colder air mass moves in later Wednesday into the
early weekend, which will keep scattered snow showers around and
the return of colder temperatures.
