...Elevated heat index values continue into the weekend...

Afternoon heat index values will peak during the afternoons in
the 103 to 107 degree range for much of South Central Texas
today. The heat indices in some isolated spots east of I-35 could
reach up to 108 degrees for a brief time. These elevated heat
index values could increase and become more widespread Saturday
resulting in a possible heat advisory.

Regardless, please take extra precautions if you work or spend
time outside in the afternoon. Stay hydrated and take breaks in
the shade or an air conditioned building. Limit strenuous outdoor
activities and check up on the elderly, sick and those without air
conditioning. Never leave children or pets unattended in a
vehicle...even for a couple minutes...and remember to look before
you lock!
