...SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT...

At 1115 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking an area of snow, heavy at
times, from near Naper to Anselmo to 11 miles northeast of
Culbertson. Movement was east at 10 mph.

The snow will become moderate to heavy for two to three hours
tonight and produce 2 to 4 inches of accumulation. The snow and
north winds gusting to 40 mph will lead to visibility less than 1/4
mile and as low as 100 feet in spots.

This snow was associated with a arctic cold front producing strong
winds. Temperatures will drop in the teens and single digits with
wind chill readings near or below zero.  Snow drifts will form on
roadways presenting an additional hazard.

Locations impacted include...
Broken Bow, Ainsworth, Burwell, Curtis, Bassett, Spencer, Stapleton,
Taylor, Brewster, O`Neill, Atkinson, Arnold, Stuart, Callaway,
Sargent, Ansley, Brady and Merna.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 183 between mile markers 80 and 211.
 Highway 20 between mile markers 241 and 310.
 Highway 281 between mile markers 176 and 223.
 Highway 2 between mile markers 228 and 299.
 Highway 92 between mile markers 228 and 304.
 Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 180 and 208.
 Highway 83 between mile markers 28 and 71, and between mile markers
98 and 114.
 Highway 12 between mile markers 55 and 131.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for snow and blowing snow.
Periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be
prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use
caution while driving. The latest road conditions for the state you
are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
