...A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT MAINLAND DARE...
NORTHERN MAINLAND HYDE...EASTERN WASHINGTON...NORTHWESTERN OUTER
BANKS DARE...AND TYRRELL COUNTIES...

At 552 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from 7 miles south of Snug Harbor to 7 miles
north of Ponzer. Movement was east at 35 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail are possible with these
storms.

Locations impacted include...
Kill Devil Hills, Williamston, Southern Shores, Killkenny, Manns
Harbor, Ponzer, Nags Head, Alligator, Gum Neck, Fairfield, Mashoes,
Manteo, Columbia, Jockeys Ridge State Park, Roanoke Island Festival
Park, Wright Brothers National Monument, Nags Head Fishing Pier,
Avalon Pier, Wanchese and Creswell.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
