...INCLEMENT WEATHER IS EXPECTED DURING FRIDAY AND SATURDAY..

TROPICAL DISTURBANCE 05F HAS MOVED PAST THE LATITUDE 10S AND OVER
TOKELAU ISLANDS THIS MORNING. ALTHOUGH THE PREVIOUS COMPUTER MODELS
SUGGESTED THE ARRIVAL OF 05F NEAR AMERICAN SAMOA AS EARLY AS THIS
EVENING INTO FRIDAY...BUT THE LATEST POSITION OF 05F WILL NOW CREATE
A DELAY WITH THE ARRIVAL OF MASS SHOWER COVERAGE ACROSS THE AREA
UNTIL DURING FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. THE TROPICAL DISTURBANCE 05F
TRACK OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS RESEMBLED HURRICANE HETA/S TRACK BACK
IN 2004.

THE LATEST COMPUTER MODELS STRUGGLED TO PINPOINT WHETHER 05F WILL
INTENSIFY AS IT DESCENDS TOWARD THE SAMOAN ISLANDS. THUS...NUMEROUS
TO FREQUENT SHOWERS AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND THUNDERSTORMS
ARE EXPECTED FROM THIS DEVELOPING TROPICAL SYSTEM BEFORE THE END
OF THE WEEK. HENCE...THE THREAT FOR FLASH FLOODING IS HIGH AS WE
EXPECT INCREASING RAINFALL TO PASS THROUGH THE AREA.

CONTINUE TO MONITOR LOCAL RADIO AND TV MEDIA FOR NEW FORECAST UPDATES
AND MAKE SURE THE SMALL STREAMS AND DRAINAGE OUTLETS ARE KEPT FREE
OF DEBRIS.
