..MUCH COLDER CONDITIONS LATE TONIGHT INTO FRIDAY...

...A LIGHT WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION IS POSSIBLE FOR MUCH OF
WEST CENTRAL TEXAS TO THE SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 20 AND NORTH OF
INTERSTATE 10...

What to expect.

1. Much colder air will arrive tonight following a strong cold
frontal passage, and will be accompanied by brisk north to
northeast winds. Wind chill readings are expected to be in the
teens to lower 20s for the Thursday morning commute to work and
school.

Little temperature recovery is expected during the day Thursday.
Highs Thursday afternoon will be mostly in the lower to mid 30s
with wind chill values in the 20s. Early morning lows on Friday
are expected to be in the upper teens to lower 20s.

2. A light wintry mix of precipitation is possible, beginning
late tonight and continuing through Thursday morning. Light
freezing rain, light sleet, and light snow will be possible.

3. Patchy minor accumulation of snow (less than one-half inch) is
possible on Thursday morning, mainly on grassy surfaces. Slick
spots may develop on bridges and overpasses. Otherwise, no other
travel impacts are expected.

The very cold conditions may threaten pipes, pets left outside,
sensitive plants, and particularly cold-sensitive livestock.

With the upcoming significant weather changes, people across west
central Texas are encouraged to check later forecasts and updates
through Thursday morning.
