WEATHER SYNOPSIS

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL FADE AWAY THIS EVENING LEAVING
BEHIND A DRY PERIOD FOR THE OVERNIGHT HOURS INTO MONDAY MORNING.
THERE REMAINS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF A FEW SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
DEVELOPING TOMORROW AFTERNOON ACROSS OUR WESTERN COUNTIES IN
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI AND SOUTHWEST ILLINOIS. OTHERWISE, PARTLY
CLOUDY TO MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES SHOULD BE PRESENT FOR THE ECLIPSE
VIEWING. IT WILL BE QUITE HOT AND HUMID WITH HEAT INDEX VALUES
TOPPING OUT IN THE UPPER 90S TO LOCALLY NEAR 105 DEGREES. A
FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL MOVE IN TUESDAY BRINGING A GOOD CHANCE OF RAIN
AND STORMS TO THE AREA INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. A FEW STRONG
TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS SYSTEM. HIGH
PRESSURE WILL BUILD IN WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THE END OF THE
WEEK, PROVIDING COOLER AND DRIER WEATHER. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL
FALL INTO THE UPPER 70S TO LOWER 80S DURING THIS TIME PERIOD.
