This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska...
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...

Strong southerly winds will develop late this afternoon and evening
in eastern Colorado and adjacent Kansas border counties, where
sustained winds at 30 to 40 mph will gust up to 50 mph. Wind of this
magnitude may create hazardous travel conditions, especially for
high profile vehicles on east west routes, such as Interstate 70,
where cross winds will be strongest.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...

Thunderstorms will develop along an eastward advancing boundary in
western and central Kansas between mid-morning Monday through early
afternoon, mainly along and east of Highway 283, where severe
thunderstorms capable of producing very large hail and damaging winds
are possible.

30 to 45 mph west southwest winds and low relative humidity readings
will foster a very high grassland fire danger potential over
portions of the Tri-State area during the late morning and afternoon
hours on both Monday and Tuesday, especially south of Interstate 70.
A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for a few counties in eastern
Colorado and northwestern Kansas for Monday. Additionally, a few
areas may experience some minor reductions to visibility due to
blowing dust.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed Monday morning through early
afternoon. Spotters are encouraged to report any severe weather or
damage to the National Weather Service, and any wildfires to local
law enforcement.
