...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM HST THIS MORNING FOR THE
ISLAND OF OAHU IN HONOLULU COUNTY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.

* WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County.

* WHEN...Until 800 AM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
  streams. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or
  is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 501 AM HST, radar indicated heavy showers moving north at
    5 mph, onto the south shore of Oahu. In the heavier
    downpours, rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per
    hour.
  - Some locations that could experience flooding during the
    morning rush hour include...
    Honolulu, Hawaii Kai, Waipio, Moanalua, Kalihi, Salt Lake,
    Halawa, Aiea, Pearl City, Manoa, Kaneohe, Maunawili, Waipahu,
    Kapolei, Waimanalo, and Kailua.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 800 AM HST if flooding
persists.
