Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
218 PM CDT Wed May 1 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Thursday will be the better of the two days for burning due to
rain moving in early Friday morning. Thursday, mixing heights well
above 3KFT as well as transport winds from the south at 10-15 MPH
will promote good to very good dispersion. Rain chances will
increase Friday morning with medium to high chances (30-70%)
present throughout the day. Rain is expected to continue into
Saturday resulting in widespread wetting rains over the 48 hour
period. The presence of rain clouds will lower mixing heights
across the area resulting in good to generally poor dispersions on
Friday.

Fog potential over the next few days: There is a low chance for
fog tonight mainly in sheltered valleys and along water ways.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
